Tammy Heitkamp began her art career in metalsmithing (bronze, copper and silver) and landscape oil painting over 35 years ago. In 2002, Tammy expanded her art skills to include kiln formed fused glass and has had the unique opportunity to study under several internationally known warm glass masters.

Tammy’s art designs have been influenced by the impressionism movement, resulting in pieces with a creative free-flowing and playful sense of reality. Her experience with oil painting allows her to utilize glass to capture the ever changing and fluid landscapes seen in everyday life. She combines new glass with recycled glass to create expansive and unrestrained patterns in her glass kilns. Her art pieces include the color variations and abstracts found in nature and life.

Her education and experience gave her the knowledge to design and create fused kitchen backsplashes for residential homes in Anthem, Surprise and Flagstaff, Arizona. Recently, she has expanded her artistic talent to create one of a kind glass wall murals, lamp shades, bowls, vases, decorations and jewelry.

In addition to the art found on her website, GlassyMosaic.com, Tammy accepts commissioned custom mural and mosaic tile projects. She says, “Every unique piece of art I make is a representation of a positive and meaningful experience.”
